Wildlife Cruise Jumping Crocodile Cruise

One day Adelaide River Wildlife
& Leisure Fishing Cruise

This unique small group tour (max 10) combines many aspects of the Northern Territory that can be enjoyed in one leisurely day away from the crowds.

Your day begins when you are picked up by either Harry or Morgan from your Darwin or suburbs accommodation in a comfortable air conditioned mini bus. This is usually between 8.15 – 8.30.

Alternatively you can choose to drive to Howard Springs (approx, 25 minutes from Darwin) to meet us at 9.00 at an easy to locate location.

Your vehicle will be safe for the day on private property.

On the way to our pontoon we call in to Window on the Wetlands where there are some interesting displays and information on the region.

Then it is on to board your 6 metre shaded boat to explore the far reaches of the mighty, tidal Adelaide River.

Be sure to have lots of space on your camera for the excellent photo opportunities that will come your way. You will see territorial crocodiles and amazing bird life at very close range. Wild buffalo and pigs are sometimes sighted.

Try your luck at landing an elusive barramundi or just sit back and take in the changing vista of the river. Needless to say with their vast knowledge of the region Morgan and Harry are a wealth of information.

A nice shaded spot at the rivers edge is the perfect place for morning tea. This is followed by more sightseeing then a sumptuous BBQ lunch is held at our private Territory style compound, a short walk from the boat. Toilet facilities are available and there are big shaded tables for dining. We even have the kitchen sink! Any volunteers to help with washing up are always welcomed by Harry or Morgan!

You then return to the boat and cruise to our next stop which is Goat Island, the only island in the Adelaide River system. Meet the owner, Kai Hansen. Here you can also purchase an alcoholic beverage or soft drink. Check out the fabulous wood carvings and furniture, crafted by one of the Goat Island residents.

Then it's back to the boat for the cruise home, with a little more fishing/sightseeing and an afternoon cuppa along the way.

We are not in any rush so you will probably arrive back in Howard Springs to rendezvous with your vehicle at about 5.30pm. For those being transported back to Darwin add another half an hour.
